Well that would explain why I haven’t received any e-mails lately……

If anyone has recently tried to contact me through my contact page, you might have noticed that it redirects to yoursite.com as soon as you try to send the e-mail. That would be because I’m a moron — I forgot to update one of the settings on the WordPress e-mail plugin I’m using.

In any case, it should be working now. So, if you haven’t received a reply to your e-mail, that’s why. Sorry about that.

One other note, in case you’re not using the RSS updates feed (via Twitter), there won’t be a new comic this week, as I’m taking it off for the holidays. Happy New Year!

The plan at the moment is to re-launch Chibi Cheerleaders by (at the earliest) August or (more likely) September. In the meantime, I’m trying to wrap up loose ends with other projects — mostly some web design work (helps to pay the bills . I want to try and have as clear a plate as possible so that all I’ll need to focus on is the comic (then again, what’s the old saying about “best laid plans?”).

I’ve been inking some of the old pages, and I’m planning on releasing them on the site hopefully by time you start seeing new pages. If they aren’t all done by time everything goes live, then at least I’ll update them a chapter at a time.

Oh, and for those that have been wondering why the UStream feed’s been blank…there hasn’t been much of anything to show you at the moment. I mean, unless you want to watch me code web pages. ‘Cause I know how fun that can be. But, keep an eye on the Twitter feed. I’ll post when I’m about to start showing the feed (or just show up, and you’ll see it here on the site anyway).

No worries. I got the domain issue resolved (as you can probably tell), and the site is back up and running.

For those that missed the whole thing — you didn’t miss much.

Now, while I’m sure there’d be people that’d love a video of my ugly mug staring at them, I’m thinking of using it for something else — specifically, broadcasting what I’m drawing. It could be a request for a doodle for warming up..or a live stream of the latest page I’m working on. In any case I thought I’d try it out and see what people thought of it. I doubt it’ll be all that exciting, but hey…it’s there if you’re bored.

While I still have the old sketches page on this site, I decided to post all future sketches and completed works (comic pages excluded) on my DeviantArt account. This was more of a consolidation thing than anything, as I was just posting the same work in two different places anyway. The DeviantArt sidebar will keep track of (and show thumbnails of) the most recent work here, but it’s been flaky recently. So, in case you don’t see anything, just head on over to DA just in case. I’ll try to post any art updates to Twitter as well (look at me trying to be all social and stuff).

Lookit that…three days, three posts. That has to be some kind of record for me.

I’n a semi-related note, I’m really liking this Scribefire plugin (though I’m using an older version called Performancer because there’s a plugin that will post to MySpace). It’s making it a lot easier to post (obviously, since I’m posting here for the seocnd day in a row), so I guess I’ll stick with this for a bit. Let’s hope I’ll actually get around to blogging a bit more frequently (though I won’t be posting what I had for lunch…sorry. ). The only problem is that I haven’t had much to talk about. The good news is that the next couple of months should provide some blogging fodder, so stay tuned.

One of the reasons that I’ve been off the radar here and elsewhere (aside from just being a poor communicator all around) was because I was busy for most of 2007 writing my first book.

A Dummies Book. On Manga Studio.

For those that don’t know what Manga Studio is, it’s pretty much like Photoshop. Except (mostly) focusing on black and white work, like manga. And it does a really good job of mimicking various pens and brushes. And you can add screen tones. Oh! — and it has virtual rulers and guides.

Trust me, it’s a really good program. In fact the last half of Chapter 6 of Chibi Cheerleaders From Outer Space was done entirely with Manga Studio. And now I’ve written a book on the program to help both new users and ones who might not know of the full potential the program has.

If you’re interested, check out the Manga Studio For Dummies Blog. I created it with the intention of answering questions, and elaborating on topics within the book that I didn’t have time to cover due to page count restrictions. Plus, there are links to where you can purchase the book online.
