Not-At-Con Sketches

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make it to the San Diego Comic Con this year. In fact it’s looking like I’m not hitting any cons this year.

But, that didn’t stop me from doing some con sketches; I just did them from the comforts of my home. I decided to do a few sketches for some of my Twitter followers. I think it went pretty well, truth be told. I might just do con sketches like that from now on, especially as I really don’t like sitting behind a table anyway at those things.

Anyway, here’s what I made (click to enlarge):

So, I can finally show you the first issue of what I’ve been working on with Josh Flanagan….Dixon’s Notch!

The comic is available through the Graphicly digital comic platform for about 99 cents. You can check out the three page sample below!

I hope you all enjoy it. 🙂

I Swear I’m Not Dead!

I’ve just been busy finishing up the second issue of a comic series I’m working on with Josh Flanagan (of iFanboy podcast fame).

Well, I’m actually on vacation in New York at the moment, but I’ll be getting back to work on the comic once I get back.

In any case, once we find out when and where you can get our comic, I’ll let you all know. 🙂

My Take on Piracy (For What It’s Worth)

Digital Piracy has been happening to the music industry for close to a decade, movies for at least five years, and now in comics in (what some people may think) recent times. More often than not, the issue eventually devolves into justification for or against piracy. And usually the argument on the anti-piracy side is based around morality.

“You’re taking money from creators!”

“You’re ruining the industry!”

“You think you’re entitled to everything you want!”

“It’s wrong to steal!!!”

My response to that is simple:

It. Doesn’t. Matter. What. You. Think.

Wonder Woman – New Design (with some slight mods)

This might have been a daily sketch request…Off the top of my head, I don’t remember (it was a few months ago).

Anyway, this was a take on Wonder woman’s new look. Mostly. I decided to take a few liberties and change a few things. Notably, I dropped the jacket, changed the oddly-shaped belt into the bottom of her corset-like top, and gave her back her original bracelets.

Other than those things, I actually don’t mind the new design. 🙂

Sketched in Autodesk Sketchbook Pro 2010.
